Benjamin Franklin once said "...nothing is certain except death and taxes." Clearly Benny didn't know too much about women! Menopause is a 100% certainty for every single woman when she reaches a certain age. Typically, natural menopause occurs between the ages of 45-55 years of age. With 51 being the statistical number. Menopause can also occur due to various disorders and surgeries. We ALL get to join this Club (whether we like it or not).

Regardless of HOW we get there, we're most likely going to experience symptoms to SOME degree. Symptoms can last from 8-10 years, often starting in perimenopause before we even know our hormones are changes!

Most Common Menopause Symptoms

Hot Flashes

Hot flashes are the most commonly reported symptom during all menopausal stages.

Weight Gain

The average amount was about 12–15 pounds, usually located around the mid-section due to hormonal changes.

Night Sweats

Night sweats are hot flashes that occur during sleep. These are the most common causes of sleep disturbances.

Mood Changes

As we know, hormone changes affect our mood. This gets amplified when you combine it with sleepless nights.

Add insomnia, anxiety, fatigue, reduced libido, and forgetfulness to the mix, and we've potentially got 8–10 years of less than optimum feelings!

How Can Hypnosis Help Menopause?

Before I can explain that it's best to show you the difference between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind.

The Iceberg Analogy

The Iceberg Analogy shows the different roles that your conscious & subconscious mind have. What's important to notice here is that the Subconscious Mind is in charge of all the bodily functions. It is also the keeper of your values and beliefs.

With the use of Hypnosis, we have a more direct connection to the Subconscious Mind and can work on releasing limiting beliefs and/or values. We can also, through the use of metaphoric imagery, direct the Subconscious Mind to reduce the frequency and intensity of menopause related Hot Flashes.

A Randomised Control Study of post-menopausal women found that the participants who received Hypnosis Treatment plans saw a 74% reduction in frequency and an 80% reduction in intensity of hot flashes. (This was compared to compared to only 17% and 15% in the control group.) The majority of the Hypnosis participants also noted a substantial improvement in their sleep quality as well!
