Tobacco Marketing Costs

 September 15, 2018

By  Kary

$9 BILLION dollars in 2014.. YEAH! You read that right... $9 BILLION!!!

That's how much the tobacco industry (Big Tobacco) spent in 2014 to get and keep you hooked! Now, $9,000,000,000 (billion) is a HUGE number which psychologically is difficult to fathom, so  I'll break it down a little bit further. That works out to $25 Million every single day.

or

$1 Million Dollars...  EVERY. SINGLE. HOUR!!

That's their average hourly Marketing Budget. Crazy right?

(And that's just on cigarettes and smokeless tobacco products!)

Big Tobacco has started whistling a new tune lately...

Don't get me wrong though, it may be a new tune they're whistling, but like the Pied Piper, they are STILL whistling a tune... it's just for a brand new instrument. You see, their goal, and their ONLY goal, is to get you hooked on their products (Nicotine) so you'll hand over your hard earned cash. Business is business. Except now they're a wolf in sheeps' clothing, Vaping is the new smoking.

E-cigarettes seem to be the new direction of marketing... Especially towards kids these days. There are FAR LESS regulations on marketing e-cigarettes as there are standard cigarettes. Which means, they are now advertising towards children, this is why they have all the sweet candy flavours. They are touting e-cigarettes as the "safe" alternative. But here's the thing, MOST e-cigs contain nicotine. It's simply just a matter of rebranding and old product. They call it a "healthier" method to deliver nicotine . And guess who provides the nicotine? That's right! the tobacco industry. They've found a brand spanking new way to market tobacco to children.  In 2014, approximately $114 million was spent on marketing e-cigarettes.

And don't get me started on all the other Nicotine Replacement Therapies (NRT) out there. Half of them also contain nicotine, and guess who's providing the nicotine? Ding ding ding! That's right! The tobacco industry once again.

So why am I so riled up about this? Because I've seen the ads out there, they spend huge amounts of money telling you that smoking is SO HARD to quit!! That it'll be crazy to even attempt it without their help. But here's the thing, most smokers know of at least ONE person who one day, woke up and just decided they weren't going to smoke. And that person didn't experience ANY cravings, irritability, or withdrawals for that matter. They simply just quit, with ease. The truth is, your smoking habit is actually EASY to walk away from. Once your mind has been fully made up, both consciously AND subconsciously, it'll be a simple process. That's the day when all their marketing, and advertising will fall on deaf ears!  Never to affect you again.

Hypnotherapy is an excellent way to get your mind FULLY made up. In fact, it doesn't need to be difficult at all!
